My soul project that will probably take a lifetime to finish. A Tarot deck has 78 cards, I have 16 so far. This deck doesn't even have a name yet. Maybe it will be the End of the World Tarot. Or The Newest Testament Tarot.
But you can already pull a card. What does it have to tell you?
Can Tarot cards predict the future? That never interested me. What I love is the mythology behind them, the way the Major Arcana trace a complete arc of human experience through archetypes.
The Fool begins in innocence and walks the hero's journey all the way to the World, passing through every stage of human experience.
My four Queens embody duality.
Each offers guidance in the realm she rules
I have spent years building my artistic world, with symbols and characters that return from one story to another. It grew from childhood memories, the books I was raised on and the stories of people I have known. This deck brings them all together — in ink on paper, with sharp lines and layers of intricate detail.
Angels and generals, people who fall asleep instead of dying, sphinxes covered in tourist graffiti, aliens and goddesses at the bottom of ponds all become part of my Tarot.
Each card preserves its traditional meaning but translates it into the visual language and mythology of my work.
